I treasure being able to use my own home as a creative laboratory for my interior designs. For the first house that my husband, daughter, and I moved to in Northern Virginia, I chose a transitional, comfortable style – because that’s what best suited the everyday cadence of our lives at the time. For the family room, I used very durable and easy-to-clean fabrics – a must for a child-friendly home. To capture the regal feel I was after, I splurged on art work and chandeliers. My favorite spaces included the sophisticated sitting area in the master bedroom – I will always love that piece of art by Victor Klauss – and the corner of the sectional in the family room, where my daughter and I would lay with our legs entwined to watch our favorite movies.
